Changes to Healthy and Safe Schools Guidelines Effective Monday, September 20th

Earlier this afternoon, the Government of New Brunswick announced  changes to the Healthy and Safe Schools guidelines. These changes will come into effect on Monday, September 20th. A letter from Deputy Minister George Daley was sent home to families, outlining the changes. The Province announced that starting tomorrow, Tuesday, September 14, students of all ages must wear a mask in all areas of the school and while on school buses. Masks may be removed when students are eating, drinking, or engaged in sports or physical education classes.

ASD-N Calls On Students and Staff To Wear Orange

Each year, on September 30th, ASD-N staff and students are invited to participate in “Orange Shirt Day”.  This day is designed to educate and bring awareness to Canadians about the Canadian Indian residential school system that existed in our country and the impact it has had on Indigenous Communities and people for more than a century.

 With recent news regarding the former Kamloops Indian Residential School, ASD-N would like to renew awareness.
