It was an awesome day! We did the morning announcements in the classroom before the bell even rang. Thank you to all the students in the class for being so cooperative! I promise everyone who signed up will get a chance to do the announcements over the next few days. Once our day got started we went right into our routine. Our spelling word was "locomotion" and our "First," was for a story called "How to be a Good Listener". We doodled an elephant. We wrote a listening quiz in math. The questions were in a different format, 7+__=10. What did you score on your quiz? We also did 3 minute drill with flash cards with a partner. We looked at some mental math strategies for doubles, doubles +1, and friends of ten. We worked on some math addition and subtraction sheets just before recess. After recess we had language arts with Mrs. Hill. We did some word work with a focus on capitalization. Where do we use capital letters? We also did a read-a-loud and some daily 5 guided reading groups. After lunch we had guidance with Mrs. MacKenzie. She talked to us about whole body listening! I know we did a great job because she gave us a happy face check! In PE we worked on some basketball skills. Mrs. Hache gave the class another happy face check! I think that means we are getting good at listening! After PE the class earned 10 minute free time, so we finished up a bit early before getting ready to go home. Memo's went home today. There will be a home and school meeting tomorrow night, and anyone interested in participating in the end of month STEM balloon car challenge please bring in a signed permission slip to receive a kit. Get lots of sleep tonight, dress warm, and I will see you in the morning!
