Friday was a surprise snowday! I hope you have a good long weekend. We started off the day with our regular routine. Our spelling word was "corkscrew" and I was really pleased that most people got the "ew" sound at the end correct. Our story for "First, " was "How to catch a wave". We doodled a fox and went to Language Arts with Mrs. Hill.

In Language Arts we did a read aloud. We practiced making words with different endings for word work. What endings can you add to "fast"? We also did our reading groups and talked about the Chinese New Year.

After recess we had math. We had a listening quiz and reviewed different ways to show a number. We did math with a friend flash cards for addition 0 to 20. Then we talked about two different units for comparing length and height, centimeters and meters. If I wanted to know the height of the bridge would I use meters or centimeters? How about your height?

After an indoor lunch we had computer! I asked my class to help Mrs. Hill's class log onto the computers using their individual accounts for the first time! After computer we had Art with Mrs. Hill.

In Art we made Red Chinese Lanterns. Why did you make lanterns this week? Whats special about this week in China?

We finished off the day in PE with Mrs. Hache playing basketball. She is making you dribble now! Is it faster to move the ball by dribbling or passing?

There was a memo that went home today it is in the front of the agenda. Interim reports go home tomorrow. Just a reminder to return the valentines day tickets this week as we will be having the draw this Friday! I've sold some tickets too! I hope I win principal of the day! Things will be different around here when I get to make up 3 rules for the day!

Have a great night, get lots of sleep and I will see you tomorrow!
