It was a warm and wet day today at Ian Baillie.  We started off the day with our regular routine.  Our spelling word was "outdrew" and our "First," was for a pretend story "How to make cookies".  We doodled a dolphin and scored our own papers before we put them in our books.

Next we went to language arts with Mrs. Hill.  We worked on word endings like "eat" and "eet".  What ending would you used for the body part you put in your socks?  We also did read to self, guided reading, and we looked at a 3 minute video on greetings in Arabic.  Why Arabic?  We stopped a bit early for a bathroom and snack break before skating.

I stayed behind from skating today to help move books, cabinets, and funiture to get a classroom ready for the new Serian students who will be arriving tomorrow.  I was told skating was uneventful, which is a good report to me!

After lunch we went to the computer.  We worked in Paint.  We made a picture called "Inside looking Out".  We saved it to our hard drive and went to gym.

In PE the gym teacher was much better looking than usual (it was me and not Mrs. Hache).  We warmed up, worked on using the backboard in basketball, and we played a tag game with the noodles.

We finished off the day watching an animated short that tells the story of Saoussan, a young girl struggling to adjust to life in Canada after being uprooted from her wartorn homeland.  It was called From Far Away.  Several of our Serian students will arrive tomorrow and I know everyone is excited to welcome them.

We have Library tomorrow afternoon, so please bring in your books.  Chloe still has time to give me the Principal of the Day Prize for Friday, so hopefully she comes to her senses and does that!  Otherwise get lots of sleep, dress warm, stay dry, and I will see you tomorrow.
