Assignment: Cross Cutting to Create Suspense

Posted: March 30, 2020

Cross-cutting is a technique used commonly to show something happening in two different locations. The camera will crosscut away from one action to another action. This way of editing often creates suspense and tension.

Analyze the scene from Misery. Describe how cross-cutting is used to create suspense in this scene. You can also include additional analysis of how camera angles and shot types are used in this scene.
