Our Day- October 12, 2010

We had a very busy day today after our extra long Thanksgiving weekend.  This morning we had You and Your World with Mr. Lange, Gym, and Music.  We added a new word, the, to our Word Wall!  We have been in school now for 23 days!!!  Wow!  So far in our 100th day Fish Bowl we have 10 yellow, 10 blue, and 3 white fish. We read a silly story called Stanley the Skeleton.  We all thought it was really cool since we have a Stanley in our class! Our line leader today was Cole and our caboose was Kaitlin. We were all very happy to see each other after being off for 5 days and had many stories to share!

Kindergarten Update!

We have had a busy month this September in our kindergarten class.  We have made many new friends and are working on becoming great listeners!  We have started our Zoo Phonics and have been practicing our letter sounds every day.  We are also busy adding our 100th day fish to our fish bowl and eventhough we are only on day 15, we are very excited to be counting up to 100!  We have also been working on building our stamina for Read to Self in our Daily 5.  We even made it up to 2 minutes one day!  On Friday, September 24, 2010, we went on our first field trip to McAllister's Apple Farm.  It was a wet day, but we still had a terrific time.  We made many memories for sure! We have been learning about Terry Fox in You and Your World with Mr. Lange and this week on Thursday we have our Terry Fox Walk.
