Have a Happy Valentines Day for your snow day!

Posted: February 13, 2014

We started off this morning by going to the library and exchanging our books.   The students scolded me because I forgot to put library in the agenda on Wednesday and some of them forgot their books at home.  I try harder to remember next Wednesday to put a library reminder in the agenda!    After we changed our books, I read part of a new book, and we packed up and headed for the computer lab to work on our heritage fair project.   Lots of the students are getting to a point they are ready to start putting all of their printed information on their project boards!  We took a quick recess break so that we could go back to the classroom to run the bake sale.   Everyone handled their own money and did a great job!  We continued to work on Heritage Fair until lunch.  We had an indoor recess and had lots of fun in the classroom.  The staff of Ian Baillie was very lucky to have lunch brought in by the home and school!  Thank you so much for lunch and for all you do!  After lunch we went up to JMH and worked on our curling skills!  When we got back we went to art with Miss Gallant where we made “Minions” using Kleenex boxes to hold our valentines for tomorrow or Tuesday if there is a snow storm.  YES, Tuesday!  Don’t forget there is no school on Monday for students!    We finished off our day with our book of Gratitude as we always do.  Have a great night!

The Kindergarten Classes Challenged me to jump rope 100 times in a row!  I wasn't sure I could actually do it, but I did!  It was exausting!  To celebrate my grand achievement we showed them what 100 balloons in a classroom looked like!  Then we showed them what 100 popping balloons sounded like!

Morning Routine by GavinA beautiful Monday and a great day in grade 3!  There are spelling words again this week (I found the book)!  Remember when you read at night you need to log your time!  We started off the day with some Olympic trivia on the morning announcements!  Do you remember any of the answers.  This morning we had won 5 medals!  I wonder if we won more since then?  I guess it depends on when you are reading this!  In language arts with Miss Gallant this morning we worked on finishing our good copies of our persausive writing essays, along with our literature circles.  Then we had a quick recess.  I was very pleased with how clean both classes kept the room!  In Math we worked on our Data Analysis of graphs.  We talked about surveys and we are ready to give our own!  At lunch we went outside!  What a great day!  After lunch we went up to JMH and practiced curling with Miss McFarlene.  Look out olympics here we come!  When we got back we worked on our poster boards and went to the computer room to work on our heritage fair projects.  How are you coming along with yours?  Remember this week is the bake sale to raise money for our end of year trip and our fundraising ticket for the home and school are due.  Get lots of sleep and I will see you in the morning!
