A very busy day today.  We started off the day changing our library books!  We came back upstairs and did the senteo part of our fraction quiz, then we went outside for recess.  After recess we had language arts with Miss Gallant.  We worked on our story summary of Charlottes Web and our written recommendations!  Would you recommend this book?  After our lunch break we had an assembly!  Congratulations to Mitchel and Gavin on winning the I-care award!  Congratulations to Kaitlin Martin for winning the spell-a-thon draw for a gift card at Walmart!  After the assembly we had art.  We finished our hot air balloons and did a free paint. We finished off the day with a chair change and writing in our book of gratitude.  Tomorrow we are doing the salmon release!  Remember to bring a bagged lunch, waterbottle, and maybe a hat and sunscreen!  We should have lots of fun!  Get lots of rest and I will see you tomorrow!

Welcome back from the long weekend!  We started off today with a quick chair shuffle from Friday, but this one seemed to make everyone happy!  Good job Tricia.   We did a spelling word, frugal, do you know what that means?  We also tried to solve a problem "If I lost a cell phone", and we did an old doodle of a building in Paris.  Then we had math.  We had our first lesson in our new unit on Fractions.  The most important thing about all of the parts in fractions is that the parts need to be EQUAL!  We worked on dividing things up into equal parts.  Then we went outside for recess.  It was a bit damp but it wasn't raining.  When we came in we had language arts with Miss Gallant.  We are writing letters to Mr. Zuckerman to persuade him to do something.   I hope your letter is helps Wilbur!  We got outside again for lunch.  After lunch we went to JMH to play floor hockey.   Did your team win?  When we got back Mr. Murphy was waiting for us.  Do you remember what he talked about and showed you?  After that we had science.  We looked at what healthy plants need to survive.   We also looked at some of our tomato plants that are starting to grow.  Is this a picture of the tomato plants we planted?  How do you know?  Get lots of rest and I will see you tomorrow.

First day of another full week!  We started off the day with a desk change.  Thats always fun!  We did our morning activities and did a show not tell about going down stairs quickly.  Then we went to language arts with Miss Gallant.  Did you work on Charlotte's web today?   Are you almost done the book?  Then we went outside for recess.  After recess we dd another chair switch.  Each student got a chance to switch their seat, but some stayed where they were!  What did you do?  In math we reviewed some things about multiplication and division.  Can you remember the 3 things we said about division?  Division is Sharing.  Division is repeated ______, and The biggest number always______.  We had an indoor lunch.  After lunch we went to JMH to play floor hockey.   When we got back we went to social studies.  We looked through the NB tourist guide and found out about some cool destinations!  Where would you like to go?  We did our closing day activities.  I also drew one name for a final switch!  Lillian won and gave it to Georgia.  I think I will do that draw again tomorrow, make sure you get your morning jobs done to get a ticket for the draw! Hi my name is Kaitlin and I will be doing todays report!  We started with morning activities.  We learned how to spell "Dictionary", and we learned about a flying car thats coming out next year.  Then in math we had a quiz on our multiplication stories, then some boardwork and textbook.  Then we had recess.  I ate.  Then we had language arts with Miss Gallant where we drew a pig!  We also read Charlottes web.  I dont remember which chapter we read.  Then it was outdoor lunch.  I played with the girls.  Then we ate lunch.  At Phys. Ed I dont even think you want to know what we did!  We played soccer with a gi-normous soccer ball that was almost the size of me!  Then we had science where we planted seeds.  Im not sure if my seeds were in outer space or not!  But we floated our cups like a little boat to water them.  Then we had end of the day closings.  I did my book of gratitude and now Im sitting here writing this note!   Good bye!

I cant believe the week is over already!  We started off today with our show and tell presentations.  Everyone had a few things prepared to say about their items and it went pretty quick.  Good presentations everyone!  After show and tell we had a quick math review of dividing.  We went to recess a few minutes early so everyone could share their show and tell items a little less fomally.  After recess we had language arts with Miss Gallant.  It was a catch up day!  Everyone got a chance to finish and polish their chapter summaries and other work that may have slipped a bit behind.  It was a beautiful day outside.  Grade 3 got the soccerfield and some of the ladies had art club with Miss Gallant and Mrs. Hache.  We had Subway for hot lunch today!   Thank you to all the volunteers who make that program possible!  After lunch we went to JMH for PE with Miss McFarlene.  When we came back we had a combien Computer/Art class.  We used the program paint to "paint" a flag scene.  Do you remember why Ctrl-Z is so helpful?  After computer we had our weekly draw.  I cant remember the big winner, can you?  We did our books of gratitude and went home.  New Hot Lunch memo's went home today.   It will be a full week next week.  Get lots of rest this weekend and we will be ready for a full week next week!  Have a wonderful long weekend.

 Mikey & brother ConanWe started our day off by reviewing our 5 class rules and what a smart choice means.  We worked on our story about Merlin and his magic egg!  Do you remember what has happened so far?  We doodled a soldier and went to language arts with Miss Gallant.  We worked on Charlotte's Web and finished up our "How To..." stories.  What is your story about?  (Didit actually taste good?)  After recess we had math.  In math we worked on our multiplication facts, and looked at division.   Multiplication and division are new to us this year!  Although we have been working on drawing arrays since the beginning of the year.  Do you know any of your multiplication facts (or stories)?   We stayed in at big recess due to the rain.  Alot of people worked hard at setting up their fashion show!   The first 10 minutes after lunch were dedicated to this student organized event.  The models and the audience were wonderful.  After our fashion show we had PE in the classroom with Miss McFarlene.  Do you rember what you did?  I think I remember something with the smartboard.  When PE ended we worked with Miss Gallant on our end of year song in music and polished up some work in language arts.  NOTES:   - Im sorry I have missed some time with my teacher page.  I fell off the wagon, but am committed to write everyday until the end of the year!  I also hope to have a functional camera so the student can continue to publish the photograph of the day.      - We will have a show and tell on Wednesday in my room.  We did a toy day, a photograph day, and this time will be an open event.  That means you can bring anything you like, BUT you must be able to present and talk about it for 1 minute!   Pick something that has an interesting story that you can PRESENT!    - Please remember there is no school Thursday or Friday due to teacher meetings.   - The May Calendar went home today along with a yearbook questionaire.  We are just looking at interest in a yearbook at this point, not a monetary commitment.
