Morning Chores by MitchellWhat an awesome day.  We started off the day by jumping on the bus, and driving to Newcastle with the grades 2 and 3 students to deliver food to the foodbank.  Its nice to see where that food that we've been collecting goes.  Did you know the food bank serves over 400 families on the river?  Thats a lot of help!  We got back just in time to run our bake sale at little recess and have choir practice!  After recess we had math.  We continued to work on adding and mental math with friendly numbers.  What is a friendly number?  We stayed inside today because it was -20 at lunch!  BRRRR!!!  We had Mrs. McCarthy after lunch.  Do you remember what we worked on.  It was round but not a circle.  Then we had a visit from Mr. Savoy!  Something cool always happens when he's around!  We had our first official Mystery Skype!  Lillian noticed something that helped us alot.  Do you remember what she saw?  It was a hard game because we were playing against a grade 5 class!  Guess who won?  Do you remember where the other class was from?  After our Mystery Skype (stay tuned for some pictures), we had cupcakes that Ryan brought in to celebrate something.  I think I have it marked on the calendar, but I cant remember now.  We finished off the day with 15 minutes of free time, and then did our closing activities.  Tomorrow we have SKATING AT 10:00 AT THE LBA.  On the off chance that there is a snow storm we will NOT be skating on Thursday.  We only have the LBA booked for Wednesday.  We will also clean up our bake sale tomorrow as we have some extra goodies to sell.  Thursday the Choir is putting on a little show and Friday is our last day of school for 2013.  Get lots of rest and dress warm!  See you tomorrow!

Running Man by GeorgiaWe started today with our first rehearsal at JMH for the Christmas Concert!  All of the classes, the choir, the MC's, were all great!  It should be a wonderful show.  Georgia took todays picture.  We have talked about lighting alot and using the timer, but this is the first one I've seen with lots of "lines".  Great job!   We came back to school in time for a quick math review and then had an indoor lunch.   After lunch we we went to language arts with Miss Gallant where we worked on our persausive writing pieces!   Check out Miss Gallants teacher page for this weeks spelling words.   After language arts Mr. Waye came in to speak to us about science.  We finished up the day dicussing some science topics we could use for our science fair after Christmas.   Wednesday is our concert at JMH, so bring your smiles and your best singing voices.  See you tomorrow.

Free Hot Lunch by LillianIt has been a very busy past few days, and I appologize for not finding time to write on the class Page!   Lots has happened over the past few days, show and tell, letters to santa, an elf on the shelf named Jodi, trips to the Linden Rec Center, and much more!  Today was also very busy!  I started the day finding out that even Santa's hardest working elves are characters!  Do you remember who Jodi found to play with?  Should I be worried?  We started off the day by getting on the bus and going to Newcastle for gym class!   When we got back we had a quick music class to practice our songs for next week's concert!  Do you know the names of the songs we are practicing.  Those who are in choir got a double practice because we had choir at the little recess!   After recess we had langugage arts with Miss Gallant.  It was a big writing day!  What did you write?  We got outside for a little bit at lunch time, and we came in it was FREE HOT LUNCH for everyone!  It also included chocolate milk and cupcakes!  Christmas must be coming soon!  Thank you so much to all the volunteers that came out to run the program.   We had math right after lunch.  In math we worked on some tricky math sentences!  Is 4+3=5+2?  How about if I use a different word for "equals"?  Is 4+3 "the same as" 5+2?  Hmmmm its tricky.  What other tricky equations can you make?  After math we got our pictures taken with a special guest!  IT WAS SANTA!!! Sorry, I couldnt keep that secret!   We finished off the day with some computer time.  Thank you Mr. Cormier for helping out!   There is a meeting at 6:30 tonight at JMH.  A memo went home about it today, and there is a newstory on the front page of the website.  Maybe I will see you there.  If not, get lots of rest and I will see you tomorrow!
