Agenda 01_14_2010

  We started out the day by writing about why we love the Miramichi, and we had lots of great reasons.  We worked on being independent with our Read or Write to self, and shared some of hard work from the day.  We had Fast ForWord after recess and played our first game of floor hockey in PE.  I was very impressed with the good sportsmanship and we all had fun.  We finished off the day by reading one more chapter in our new book.  There seems to be a lot of concern about a certain ghost writer.  Do you know why?  Remember spelling test in the morning and Math Bonus will be drawn for a prize!  Have a great night and see you tomorrow.

Agenda 01_13_2010

  Our day started off with... confusion!  Mrs. Hache and I were certain that skating was to take place at 10:00, but the rink had us booked for 8:45.  My sincere apologies to anyone who missed watching their child skate today.  I did call all the parents who were going to met their child at the rink with skates, so everyone did get a chance to skate!  After skating we did writing with Mrs. MacIsaac and math back in the classroom.  After lunch we went to the computer lab and did another day of Fast ForWord.  Ask your child what their favorite game in Fast ForWord is!  See you tomorrow, and dont forget to bring in your math bonus answers.

Agenda 01_11_2010

  Back to business as usual.  The math bonus question is up and we will have a draw for the winner on Friday.  We will also have our spelling test on Friday.  And we have skating on Wednesday.  Today was our first day of Fast ForWord.  The students all did an excellent job on Navigating through the program.  In PE we started doing some floor hockey drills.  It was a bit too cold on the playground today with the wind so no one got to get outside for lunch.  We did some read and write to self in the afternoon while I finished up some individual testing, before we finished up the day with Music with Mrs. McCarthy.  Get lots of rest and hopefully we will get outside tomorrow.

Agenda 01_08_2010

  Show and tell took front stage today.  After our Morning Message we started with our presenters.  Almost everyone brought something to show today!   Mrs. Gorges was very impressed today when the class had writing with Mrs. MacIsaac!  Every person in the class worked hard and did their best.  I hope this is a sign of how 2010 is going to go.  In PE we did one more day working on our 4 counts in dance and making up our own creative moves.  Mr. Somers went over water and its forms in the environment.  Do you know what 3 forms water takes?  Don't forget that Monday we start Fast ForWord.  Have a great weekend and we will see you on Monday for our first full week of 2010.

Morning Letter 01_08_2010

Good morning,  Today is Friday.  Annabelle is already dreaming of summer!  She has a long wait.  Brendan is eager to open his gifts! (Did he miss Christmas?)  Abby's Grammy is taking her shopping after school.  Evan is going to be a goalie in hockey this weekend.  Zach Robichaud, Zack L,  and Liam are thinking about becoming hobo's.  Zach P is thinking about becoming a dog who wont eat dog food or dog treats.  Shannon is wearing PJ's at night that have holes in them.  Colby thinks his brothers birthday is tomorrow.  Kelly is excited for show and tell.  Logan is going to try body checking in his hockey game tomorrow.  Thank you to Rhyan and Shannon for finding mistakes in our message.  Ben broke a string playing his guitar.  Have a great day!    Mr. McCallum's class

Agenda 01_07_2010

  Well we hit our grove a little better on our second day back, sleep patterns are returning to normal and we all seemed to be a bit more in school mode.  A perfect time to have Show and Tell!  Remember NO Sheet NO Show, (look under documents if you lost your sheet).  We finished our Ready Freddy book today!  Do remember what happened to Max in the race?  In writing today some wrote Mrs. McCarthy a letter and asked her if we could have a winter olympics at Ian Baillie just like in the book.  I think she really liked the idea so that may be in the works for the near future.  Just goes to show that letters do have power!  In math we reviewed numbers that pair to add to 10, and learned a few games.  In PE we made up our dances.  Crank up some tunes at home and learn some new moves!  See you all tomorrow!

Good morning,  Today is Wednesday.  Ben is now playing Adventure Quest Worlds.  His Avatar is green.  Meow Meow Meow.  Logan is going to the library to get a Geronimo Stilton book.  Josh got a hair cut and is bringing a surprise to show and tell.   Ruff Ruff.  Colby is going sledding tonight.  Zack L's cousin is staying with him for a week.  Nibble Nibble Nibble.  Moo Moo.  Zach P says "HI".  Evan is still tired from the break.  When Abby gets home her Grammy will be waiting for her.  Brendan thinks he will be rich by the time he turns 8!  Have a great day. Mr. McCallum's Pet Emporium

 We had lots of cool show and tells today!  One student brought a dog, one brought their sister, and lots brought cool stuff!  Great job everyone.  We read another chapter in our new chapter book Ready Freddy, Ready Set Snow.  Freddy made a bet that his friend Robbie thinks was a mistake.  What do you think?  The Christmas dinner was fabulous and we all got a candy cane from Santa!  What a great day.  Remember we are going to the movies tomorrow, so get lots of rest and I will see you in the morning.
