Good morning,  Today is Wednesday.  Zach P put up his Christmas tree last night.  Brendan fell off a sled when he was being pulled by Josh's brothers four wheeler.  OUCH!  Unless you were at brownies last night, you missed Appliance night!  Annabelle is getting excited for her birthday!  Liam was on the news last night for building a gaint snowman.  Ben is going to go to Bay de Vin to cut down his tree.  Evan is still itchy.  Logan plays for a hockey team named the Devils. Kelly is sad she will miss school to play ringette.  Abby is now rich because the tooth fairy came!  Zack L is excited for his cousins birthday party on the 4th.  Have a great day.Mr. McCallum's class

Sorry I was late posting the new math video for this week, but it was harder than I thought to find time in this guests schedule.   We talked on Skype about the students in class and he recorded this for me at the end of our conversation, unfortunately there was a small audio problem when I recorded it.  He wants to know, if there are 17 students in our class, and 19 students in Mrs. Hache's class, how many candy canes would he need if each student was to get 2 candy canes?  (Remember how we used tally marks?)  The draw will be on Friday, good luck!

I thought we lost Geronimo today when someone pushed him into a sarcophagus and closed the lid!  Luckily he got out, but now he's going into a secret hatch in the basement!  What is that mouse thinking!  In Art today we made our mailboxes for our desks.  I see lots of teachable moments coming up with these.  In math today we worked on adding numbers in different orders and found that order doesn't matter!  (2+4=6 and 4+2=6)  When you set the table for dinner tonight, have your child add groups of items on the table (forks, knives, glasses).  Try adding them in a different order. Maybe your child can explain why order doesn't matter.  Spelling test on Friday, I posted the words if you lose them.  I also am posting Math Bonus #006.  Good luck!

Today we finished up writing to our Calgary friends, our letters will be posted this week.  We read more in our Geronimo Stilton book and found out what a Scarab is, do you remember?  In gym today we started learning about ringette, and we had our last music class before the christmas concert next week.  Josh Cabel drew the winner of the math question.  It was Shannon Bowes AGAIN!  Actually Shannon's name came out second because the first name didn't have an answer in it!  Get your answers in!  The new video will be posted tomorrow.  I also found a couple of links that shows off celebrities from our class on big websites!  Here's one below, check it out! http://www.vancouver2010.com/olympic-photos/allphotosgallery_82644ct-p2-...

We are trying to pack lots in with the torch coming on Friday and the Christmas Concert right around the corner!   Our class has some local celebrities this week with the morning announcements, look out Hollywood!  We met a new character today nicknamed "The Desert Rat" in our Geronimo Stilton chapter book.  We practiced our songs for the Christmas concert and we went to the rink to skate!  We also had our Popsicle party for the winning the penny award last month!  We rock!  We started to work on math sentences that are equal and unequal.  And at the end of the day I had a lot of kids who were disappointed to learn that my desk was covered with wrapped soaps and not candies, but they took the soaps anyway... I'm as puzzled as anyone!  Remember to bring in your answers for math Bonus #5 and there will be a spelling test first thing in the morning.  See you then.
