Mermaid by GeorgiaOur first day back on a full week!  We started off today working exploring different parts of our story that we are getting help with from the high school.  Check out Kaitlin's doodle of a mermaid from the JMH tutorial.  Then we did language arts with Miss Gallant and worked on procedural writing.  After recess we did math and introduced measurement of mass.  Do you remember the units we were using?  What did we use as a referent for one gram?  After lunch we had PE.  Did you go snowshoeing today?  Then we finished off the day with Social Studies where we talked about citizenship.  We had our mysterybox draw from last week.  Get your tickets in this week!  Get lots of rest and wear some boots tomorrow cause its suppose to rain.

Cat by MikeyToday was a very cool day!  The weather was great, we had guest speakers, and we had lots of fun!  We started off the day by going downstairs to the library to change our books.  After libary we came back to the class and did our opening activeities.  We worked on showing the difference between an old man and a wizard, and we doodled a cat shown to us by Nolan at JMH.  Then we jumped right into math. We review thow to tell time on an analog clock and the formula for perimeter.  Do you what that is?  (P=s+s+s)  Then we went outside!  Five degrees seems very warm when you are used to it being minus twenty!  After outdoor recess we came in and ate lunch before grabbing a hockey stick and jumping on the bus to go to JMH for PE.  When we came back to Ian Baillie we had some guests from NBCC (Stephanie and Biancca)  talk to us about the thumb-body program!  We sang songs, made stars, and talked about some cool words like "unique" and "self-esteem".  Do you know what those words mean?  They will be back on Tuesday to do more cool stuff with us!  We finished the day off with our book of gratitude and I signed the agendas.  Miss Davidson will be filling in for me tomorrow, but I will be in the building.  How do you treat guests in your home?  How do we treat guests in our classroom?  I cant believe tomorrow is the last day of the week already!  Get lots of rest an I will see you tomorrow.

Wizard by BenWelcome back everyone!  We had a nice long break.  We started off the day with my favorite minute of the week, Floride!  Do you know why its my favorite minute?  After floride we did our morning warm up!  A spelling word, a doodle, and a quick show not tell.  Do you remember what character we used for our doodle?  Then we went to language arts with Miss Gallant until recess!    After recess we had math!  We talked about a cool video by google, and read some multiplication stories.  We worked on perimeter!  Do you remember what perimeter is?  There is a formula for perimeter, do you know what that is? (Perimeter is equal to ???)  It was a beautiful day and we all go outside for lunch!  When we came back in it was hot lunch from Eds Sub!  Thank you to all the volunteers who help make that wonderful program work and run smoothly!  After lunch we went to PE at JMH.  What did you do today?  When we came back we talked about presentations for computer class using smart notebook.  Did you get yours done?  Remember you will need to be able to tell a story!  We finished up in computer and wrote in our book of gratitude.   We got our agenda's signed and ready for home.  A great first day back!  Get lots of rest and I will see you tomorrow!

OCTO by JMH Art ClassIt was a very full day today.  We started out by using an extra 10 minutes to clean and organize our new... I mean old.. desks.  Then we did our morning routine.  We wrote a small story about a sore tooth, doodled a cranky baby, and spelled a word they use in weather sometimes.  Do you remember the word?  Then we did some math.  We talked about perimeter!  Perimeter is the distance around an object and can be found by adding up all the sides.  It was a nice day today so we got to get outside!  After lunch we went to JMH, but we skipped gym!  We met Mr. Fallon's art class and looked at some of the characters that they made.  Which character was your favorite?  When we came back Miss Gallants class did the Thumb-bodies program and we did science.  We looked at towers.  What are some things all towers seem to have in common?  Did you remember that when you built your tower?  Get lots of sleep and I will see you tomorrow!

We started off the day with our opening morning routine.  We were all excited about the CUTE awards from last week!  Great job everyone!  We looked at some of the pictures on the district web site.  We also did our world news on an upcoming musical that both JMH and Bathurst high will be performing.  Do remember the name of it?  Think of our doodle today!  After our warm up we went to LA with Miss Gallant.  Check out her teacher page to see what we did today.  We had to cut LA a little short so we could jump on the bus and go to a TNB play at Dr. Losier Middle school.  What was it about?  I hope they return my teddy bear!  After the play we walked down the hill.  It was VERY cold!  I thought this was supposed to be spring!   It was so cold that we stayed indoors for lunch today.  After lunch we cleaned up and went to JMH for floor hockey!  When we got back from floor hockey we had Social Studies with Miss Gallant.  Are volunteers important?  Who do you know that volunteers?  After Social Studies we pretended to be ninja's and did something very exciting!  I hope Mrs. Hache doesnt get mad at us!  I told everyone to sign their own agenda with a happpy face, and we went home for the day!  Get lots of sleep tonight, and I will see you for a busy day tomorrow!

A very busy day today!  I hope everyone is busy at home working on their science fair projects!  We will visit them again tomorrow to make sure everyone is making progress (you've picked an experiment / who are you working with)!   We started out today with some delicious floride!  We also got a sneak peak at our school spirit video that we submitted to the CUTE Awards!  We wrote a quick story on what happened when we were tired!  Remember, just like our science fair, small problem means a small story (or small project), and a big problem means a big story (big project).   After our quick warm up we did some measurement in Math.  We were using units of time.  Do you remember what units we were using today with the calendar?  We had a great indoor recess and then we went to language arts with Miss Gallant.  Check out her teacher webpage to see what we did today!  At lunch we all went outside because it was a beautiful day.  After lunch we went to PE at JMH.  After PE we talked about citizenship.  What is the one little thing we are going to try to do tomorrow?  Can you be a good citizen?  We are getting lots of snow, so dress warm!  Winter isn't over just yet!  Get lots of rest and I will see you in the morning.

Giant Hole by ThomasWe are back from our March break, so we have lots of news! Thomas spent the break trying to get out of a huge hole that his dad dug in the snowbank at his camp. Lillian went to Cambellton and went down hill skiing. Mikey has been sleeping everywhere, including a snowbank, a bathtub, and his bed! Jacob went to Wendy's in Moncton and got a spicey chicken burger! It was too hot! Ryan went to Fredericton. He went to the mall and went to Toys R Us. Kaitlin went to Quebec and went tubing down big hills! It was awesome. Mitchell had a sad March break so we are hoping school will take his mind off of things. Gavin went downhill skiing. He went on the hardest hill. Georgia was more excited about going to two malls! She came home with 6 new stuffies! Ben went cross country skiing in Nelson! We all had a great break!   Today we worked on units of time in math.  In LA we did a small moment about March break, changed our book boxes, and made sure we had our books to read at night.  We played catch in PE with Mrs. McFarlene.  We went over our science fair outline with Mr. McCallum!   It will be a busy week!  Stay tuned!

Crazy Hair Day today!   I didn't comb my hair this morinig but no one seemed to notice?  We problem solved for a lost mitten, doodled a dinosaur, and started a new chapter book called Pipi Longstocking.  Do you remember anything special about Pipi?  In math we worked on converting data into line plots.  After recess we had language arts with Miss Gallant.   Did you finish your persausive writing piece yet?  It was -19 at lunch so everyone stayed in, but we ate when everyone else played, because we were gettting ready to go somewhere!  We went to Nelson to learn to cross country ski!  Did you fall down?  Even though it was cold it seemed warm because we were in the woods!  We came back (a bit late) and did a quick science lesson.  Then we closed out the day with our jobs and our book of gratitude.    Tomorrow we wear pink for anti-bullying day.  It is hot lunch (burgers).  We have heritage fair in the afternoon!  A memo went home today about science fair, but we are going to finish our heritage fair first!  Get lots of sleep for a busy day tomorrow!
