2013_11_06 Wednesday

Soccer on the Mind by GavinToday we learned about a car that drives itself! Do you remember anything about it? We had language arts with Miss Gallant (check out her teacher page to see what we did). At recess we had choir in the resource room, because the gym was booked. In math we practiced skip counting with money, and played a little game with Mr. McCallum's money. I had lots of student choose (on their own) to stay in with me at lunch to work on finishing their posters for Rememberance Day. We worked on them after lunch and went outside for some fresh air for gym class. We ended the day with a short computer class, and did our book of gratitude to end the day. A memo went home to day to remind grade 3 students that we will be travelling to the mount on Friday afternoon to take part in a Remembrance Day program.

2013_11_05 Tuesday

Cat on Date with Monkey by GeorgiaThe day started out with learning to draw an airplane, and writing about how to show that someone was tired. In our book, Lucky did something incredible today! Do you remember what it was? In Math, we did a boardwork sheet and did some skip counting! Do you remember what we did to help us learn to skip count? Maybe you could practice doing the same thing at home. There was choir at little recess and everyone else stayed in. After recess we went to language arts, Mrs. Gallant posted about it again today on her teacher page. Check it out! At lunch we all got to get outside and get some fresh air. It was tally Tuesday in PE. How many laps did you get? We replaced Science today with Social Studies so that we can try and finish up our posters by Friday. They are due Monday, but since there is no school on Monday, we need to have them finished ASAP! We had guidance to finish off the day. Do you remember what Mr. Cormier was talking about today? Practice "Flanders Fields" at home, and dress warm! See you tomorrow.

2013_11_04 Monday

A Selfie by Photographer of the Day TriciaHalloween is over, and today we were back into the regular swing of things. It sure was cold this morning, I hope everyone is wearing a winter hat an mittens, the next time I have outdoor duty I will be wearing skipants! BRRRR! We started out the day learning about clown fish, and writing about people arguing, and assigning a new job on the job board that everyone seems to want! Do you remember what it was? Language Arts was very cool today! Do you remember what you did? If not, check out Miss Gallants teacher page post. She put this weeks spelling words up as well. Recess today was our first indoor recess. Most students went to choir, the rest stayed in the classroom and found a quit activity. In Math we worked on our number lines and skip counting by 5's, 10's, 25's, and 100's. When we draw a number line on our page, it doesnt have to be perfect, but if we use a "referent" it helps alot! What referent do we use when we make a number line? We did get outside today, but it was still cold, dress warm tomorrow. In PE we worked on travelling through space safely, and played some games. After PE we worked on our posters for Rememberence Day. Some of them are really moving along! How is yours coming? We ended the day by taking our time writing in our book of gratitude, and crticing some of the 87 photos that Tricia took today! I love that she took so many, because I deleted 84 of them. What did we learn about the flash today? Get lots of sleep and I will see you tomorrow.
